An avid animal lover since my youth, I grew up with dogs and cats in the home, and appreciated each of their unique personalities. I enjoyed walking and training my dogs as a child, and had many dog and cat friends outside of the home, too!
My adventures have taken me to many countries. During my eleven years in China where I studied Mandarin and taught English as a second language (ESL), I rescued Tucker, a beautiful red English Cocker Spaniel, from a dog zoo in the suburbs of Beijing. I trained Tucker in Chinese but taught him ESL when we moved back to the States. We had twelve wonderful years together before Tucker passed (it is my firm conviction!) into heaven. I have owned, loved, and trained several dogs, but Tucker was … special.
Your pet is an individual; I understand how important he or she is to you, and I would honor them, delight in them, and love them in your stead – in addition to providing experienced, responsible care. If the love of your life has feathers or scales, no worries, I have experience with reptiles and birds, as well. I kept a few snakes in high school, and owned two white finches during my time in China.
